PIC-NIC NOTTURNO (Night time Pic-nic)

Pleasure, happiness as practicable experiences and creative strategy are the focus of this project celebrating food as a form of communication and conviviality. A garden on the hills surrounding Florence, in a summer night. The aim is sociality: to promote the meeting of people through personal exchange and contact. 200 wooden fruit boxes, each containing a picnic kit for four people (a tablecloth, candles, a bottle of wine, a bag for litter, and a variety of food with organic ingredients in original Arabeschi di latte containers). The place is the green area of Palagio delle Rose; the event is created by the participants themselves: the picnic boxes, already assembled and piled as high as columns, are distributed to groups of participants who lay their content on the grass. The final scene offers the view of a vast display of white tablecloths lit up by 400 small candles. The tension towards the setting up of communication is evident: the scenery is created to the end of channelling energy towards interaction and companionship in the motivating context of a highly evocative, almost magic atmosphere.
